Did You Know........ Most handheld Hairdryers will consume enough electrical energy to otherwise provide lighting for a moderate to a large home ? As strange as it may seem, a typical 1500Watt handheld hairdryer consumes as much energy as ten 150Watt light bulbs. Consider a typical, eight to ten room home, using an average of 150 Watts of lighting per room, and it's easy to see that the power consumption of one simple hairdryer could exceed the electrical energy used by a house full of active lighting fixtures during a similar period of usage. In fact, most electrical appliances containing electrical heating elements, are consumers of substantial amounts of electrical energy, (measured in Watts). The most common appliances containing such heating elements: Electric Ranges or Ovens, Electric Water Heaters, Electric Baseboard Heaters, Electric Dryers, Coffee Pots, Toasters, Toaster Ovens, Warming Drawers, Dishwashers, even some Refrigerators! How many of these appliances do you use each day?
