Often, a more subtle solution to a new Building Addition for a Home or Business, is to use the existing structure as a template for a newly modified area.  This type of construction or renovation is an art form, requiring patience, diligence and perseverance for all involved, including the property owner.  If done properly, an electrical renovation to an existing electrical system (or parts thereof),  will often produce a durable and practical alternative to a total replacement of an existing system.  It takes a Pro however, to make the proper assessment of the existing electrical system before the existing wiring is extended and reused.

Special usage considerations should be made with regard to existing wire gauges and the potential impact of new loads upon the existing wiring.  The condition of existing wiring is certainly a consideration before deciding the fate of existing walls and ceilings, and whether the existing wiring should be reused or extended.

Before a sizable renovation, the Owner must weigh the costs of wall/ceiling removal, against the costs of wiring through existing wallboard by cutting access holes and snaking.  At first, it may seem less expensive to preserve the wall and ceiling finishes despite the wiring installation, which must take place as part of the renovation, but the additional Labor costs associated with wire snaking and Painting/Patching of the access holes made, can soon turn your budget toward the red.  At JARS Electric Corporation,  we will be candid in review of your Electrical Renovation plans, and we’ll do our best to guide your decisions to help minimize the impact of your Electrical Renovation.
